Over the last decade, in some ways the insurance industry has changed massively, whilst in others there has been little to no change. Some of the main drivers to change have been the FSA/FCA, corporate governance and the economic climate.
Unfortunately, not all change has been to the benefit of consumers and there has been, due to economic pressure, a "dumbing down" of service.
However, what is clear is that professional insurance firms have core aims & objectives:
- A clear understanding of a client's demands and needs and deliver a solution to these.
- To be the best that they can be - service delivery, professionalism, qualifications, culture.
- To deliver a professional advice led service proposition.
- To protect shareholders and reduce risk from professional practice.
Acting professionally means that as a business, you can demonstrate the value added offering you bring to a client relationship, regardless of the regulators in force.
The ultimate aims being - Professionalism, Profit and Protection.
